ISO 9001

ISO 9001:2008 is an international standard that gives requirements for an organization’s Quality Management System.

The objective of ISO 9001:2008 is to provide a set of requirements that, if they are effectively implemented, will ensure that your business moves on and on meeting consistent requirements of customers and within organisation.

The Standard requires that you define your management processes in a documented system, with a Quality Manual to show process interactions, the six mandatory procedures for control of documents (4.2.3), control of records (4.2.4), internal audit (8.2.2), control of nonconforming product (8.3), corrective action (8.5.2) and preventive action (8.5.3) and any additional procedures you require. It should be tailored to your organisation and can be viewed on the computer network or as hardcopy.

A fully implemented ISO 9001 Quality Management System aims to deliver a consistent quality product/service and to enhance Customer Satisfaction. There is also a requirement to continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System, for the benefit of the Organisation and Customers.
